Decorated doughnuts have been quite popular during the last years.

A recipe for 30 donuts: Ingredients:
- 1 kg white flour
- 5 dl lukewarm water
- 100g sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tp salt
- 60 gr fresh yeast or 30 gr dry yeast
- 90 gr melted margarine or butter
- 2 tp vanilla essence
- 2 tp rhum
- 2 ts cognac (optional)
For the filling & glazing 1
- Strawberry/Cherry jam/Raspberry jam
- Icing sugar
For the filling & glazing 2
- Nutella spread
- Icing sugar
For the filling & glazing 3
- 2dl cream + 1 tbs icing sugar to make whipped cream
- Sprinkle coloured sugared sprinkles on top
Steps:
- Put into a mixer the flour, sugar, yeast and mix well.
- Add gradually the mix of water, eggs and essences & margarine/butter and mix for 6 min on low speed.
- Let the dough raise till double size (about 1 hour).
- Flatten the dough into a sheet of 1 cm on a floured surface and cut into circles shape of 50 gr each
- Cover in a warm place or in an oven set to 35 degrees and let it rest for 30 min.
- Heat oil for deep frying into 170 degrees and fry till light brown each side of the donut.
- Leave to cool on some absorbing paper and inject strawberry/cherry jam into the donut.
- Spread icing sugar on top and enjoy.
