In this situation all over the world, here is a recipe that might bring joy to your day from ziggy, a very colourful friend of ours.

She is totally passionate about finding and trying new recipes and putting so much effort into the outlook of her dishes.
This crunchy recipe is of Filo leaves pouches filled with a wonderful apple mix.

- 1 pack of Filo leaves
- Butter for spreading
- 1 kg green apples
- ½ cup dried cranberries
- ¾ cups pecan/walnuts
- 3 tbs lemon juice
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 cups red wine
- Cotton butcher’s string or pure cotton thread
Cut the apples into small squares.
Combine ingredients including the wine.
Leave to soak for an hour.
Sieve the mix to drain liquid. Add some more cinnamon, according to taste.
Cut Filo into 20×20 cm squares.
Separate 3 leaves and brush with melted butter between them.
Place apple mix in the middle of the square. Lift corners and tighten towards the middle.
Tie the pouch with pure cotton thread. Brush a little more butter onto the pouch.
Bake until brown in 170C.
Optional: Dust with powder sugar and vanilla ice cream.
